Divorce is almost like a forbidden word when it comes to the Royals. But we hate to break it to you, even the Royal Family are…brace yourself…human!
Now that we’re in the 21st century, we’ve become naturally desensitized to divorce, and fortunately, it’s not as frowned upon as it used to. We all deserve to be happy, and if the relationship isn’t amicable, successful or worthwhile anymore, then two people should absolutely have the right to legally end their marriage.
Despite it being in our human nature for two people to emotionally and romantically drift apart sometimes, that doesn’t mean divorce itself isn’t a horrible thing to go through – for all those involved. And as much as they try to avoid it, the Royal Family have had a number of divorces over the years; undoubtedly the most infamous of these being the separation between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
It was an absolute tabloid scandal at the time, so how did it eventually settle? What was Princess Diana awarded as a settlement? Was it a fair agreement?
