Lip Reduction

The Lip Reduction can usually be performed as an outpatient and even under local anesthesia in the office. A strip of tissue is removed between the inside and outside the mouth so the scar heals the best and is minimally visible. No dressings can be placed and patients are encouraged to limit their activities for at least one week. The swelling is maximal at that time and usually goes down to an acceptable amount by two weeks. However total recovery can take several months. It can be done on both the upper and lower lips.

Approximate Length of Surgery: 1 to 1½ hours

Approximate Cost: The cost of each is about $3000-4000 (upper/lower lips)

Average Recovery Time: 1 week
